Cattlemens Oklahomas Oldest Hall of Fame Steakhouse
Cattlemen’s Steakhouse is Oklahoma’s longest-running steakhouse, and for good reason. From delicious food to its iconic Western atmosphere, there are many reasons our customers keep coming back to our historic steakhouse. Our story is one of humble beginnings, excitement, and expansion, all while maintaining the highest quality of our food. Over the years, we’ve seen our fair share of celebrities and guests visiting to experience our iconic dishes. Located in the historic Stockyard City, be sure to stop by Cattlemen’s Steakhouse to experience our award-winning food for yourself.
A Storied Beginning in Stockyards City
Our story begins in 1910, in the heart of Oklahoma City’s Stockyards district, where hungry farmers and ranchers gathered to transport cattle to the East. Then known as Cattlemen’s Cafe, our steakhouse quickly grew in fame and notoriety through the years. In an exciting twist, ownership of Cattlemen’s suddenly changed hands as Mr. Gene Wade rolled the unlikely “hard six” during a high-stakes gambling spree. From there, Cattlemen’s Steakhouse expanded to add additional rooms and dining halls, eventually evolving into the restaurant we know and love today. Today, you will see how our cowboy roots shaped the culture and dining experience you see now.
Signature Steak and Dishes
Cattlemen’s Steakhouse has been able to stand the test of time as the longest continuously running Steakhouse in OKC, mainly due to our signature dishes and award-winning steaks. Our steak options, such as the famous Presidential T-bone or USDA Prime Blue Ribbon New York strip steak, are grilled to perfection and will leave you satisfied every time. In the mood for chicken? Try our incredible chicken-fried steak that Southern Living called “the most beloved chicken-fried steak in the state.” If you’re feeling bold, our lamb fries, or lamb testicles, are a rite of passage at Cattlemen’s, offering a very unique texture and taste that will leave lasting memories. Other entree options include our excellent catfish with homemade tartar sauce and broiled Norwegian salmon.
