Cattlemen’s Cafe A Piece of Oklahoma History
Cattlemen’s is not only the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Oklahoma, but it also has an incredible story behind it. In 1945, the ownership of the restaurant changed hands in a high-stakes dice game. Hank Frey, the owner at the time, wagered the entire restaurant on a roll of the dice with local rancher Gene Wade Jr. When Wade rolled a “hard six” he walked away with Cattlemen’s Café. This legendary dice game is commemorated today by the '33' brand that still hangs on the wall.

Despite the changes, Cattlemen’s has retained its old-fashioned charm, offering a dining experience that reflects both the area's rich history and its dedication to serving top-quality steaks. The restaurant has garnered numerous accolades, including its recent induction into the National Steakhouse Hall of Fame, Oklahoma News 9 said, "One of Oklahoma’s biggest attractions is Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, and the recognitions and awards are pouring in to prove it."
