Tulsa King’s Sylvester Stallone in Oklahoma City
So you may be wondering, “What the heck was Sylvester Stallone doing in Oklahoma anyway”? Well, he was filming the now-famous Tulsa King show directed by Taylor Sheridan, who also created and produced Yellowstone for Paramount Plus as well, as many other great shows. Ironically most of the show was not filmed in Tulsa it was actually filmed right here in Oklahoma City, well for the most part.
A scene was even filmed at the childhood home of baseball Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle in Commerce, Oklahoma. Pretty cool right?
However, due to some severe weather interfering with filming, they completed the filming of the show in Atlanta, GA. If there is one thing about Oklahoma it is that our weather is downright unpredictable.

In the show Stallone, known on the show as Dwight “the General” Manfreddy, a New York City mod boss was released after serving 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit and was cast out by the head of the mod to Tulsa, OK. That is what the famous Sylvester Stallone and his family had in Oklahoma City and when he heard about a “real old cowboy and western” spot like Cattlemen’s Cafe, well he had to experience it for himself.
